This c1850 dagger is from the Gold Rush period in California. It has a walrus tusk and measures 12.5" in total, with a 3.5" forged steel quillion and 8" double edged triangular blade. The ivory is in excellent condition for it's age and the blade needs sharpening as well as cleaning. This is a very handsome example of 1850s weaponry.
